Community guidelines
Kyn is for serious public creative response. Writers should make parent-story connections honestly, and readers should be able to understand what is being continued, resisted, reframed, or carried forward.
What we expect
- Publish stories you have the right to publish.
- Claim that one story responds to another only when the response is real and intended.
- Write Spark Notes that explain what changed in language readers can follow.
- Do not use Sparks or parent-story connections to harass, impersonate, or mislead other writers.
- Use reader prompts, reader notes, Reader Lists, and room conversations to deepen the work, not to attack people.
- Respect the difference between public conversation and private drafting, saving, and list-making tools.
What may lead to moderation
- Abusive or threatening story content.
- Misleading or exploitative Spark claims.
- Spam, impersonation, or repeated bad-faith participation.
- Attempts to claim another writer's work inspired a story when it did not.
- Copyright or rights concerns, including work presented as yours when you do not have the right to publish it.
- Material that violates Kyn's content expectations, including real-person sexual likenesses, nonconsensual real-person material, or material involving minors.
How the flywheel should feel
- Readers should be able to rate, save, list, discuss, and prompt without being forced into public authorship.
- Writers should be able to draft privately before choosing which story connections become public Sparks.
- Public rooms should help people understand what readers noticed, what writers responded to, and where a story might travel next.
- Moderation should protect the public creative-response loop without flattening honest disagreement or interpretation.
How to report something
Use the report links on story and Spark pages when the concern is about a specific work or a specific public claim between stories. Staff review story reports separately from Spark reports so concerns about the work itself do not get blurred with concerns about the connection claim.
